Biomes are distinct areas in the world of Bloxd.io. There are 21 biomes in Bloxd.io currently. Each Biome offers different types of resources and Blocks, as shown below.
Grass-based Biomes[]
Grass-based biomes have grass blocks covering the topmost surface of the terrain. These biomes are often flat, but they can sometimes generate halfway up a mountain.
Resources that spawn in grass-based biomes:
Resources that more commonly spawn:
- Maple Trees and other types of trees
- Grass
- Tall Grass
- Flowers
Resources that spawn occasionally or rarely:
Structures that spawn in grass-based biomes:
- Mysterious Ruins (rare)
- Rivers (common)
- Lava Pools (uncommon)
- Great Maple Trees (uncommon)
Plains[]
An image of the plains.
Maple trees are sparsely scattered across plains. All the resources in the list above (except for mushrooms) spawns in plains.
Grassy Plains[]
Grassy Plains biomes are a variant of the plains with a large amount of Grass and Tall Grass covering the surface.
Meadows[]
Meadows are another variant of the plains with a large amount of flowers spreading across the surface. Corn plants can only spawn in this biome and Cotton plants are more abundant in meadows than in other biomes.
Maple Forests[]
Maple Forests are similar to Plains, but are densely packed with Maple Trees and occasional Aspen Trees, Plum Trees or Pear Trees (only one of the three can spawn) among the Maple Trees. Cotton and rice plants do not spawn in maple forests (as well as all forests), but fat mushrooms can spawn.
Pear Forests, Aspen Forests and Plum Forests[]
All three forests have the characteristics of forests and grass-based biomes. They consist of pear trees, aspen trees and plum trees respectively, along with some maple trees.
Bluebell Forests[]
Bluebell Forests are a rare variant of Maple Forests where the only flower that spawns are Bluebells, which spawns in massive amounts and covers most of the ground in the biome. This is the only place you can find Bluebells.
Autumn Forests[]
Autumn Forests are another variant of Maple Forests that are relatively more common than Bluebell Forests. In Autumn Forests, all the leaves of trees (maple and aspen) will be replaced with autumn maple and aspen trees that are orange and yellow respectively. Fallen autumn leaves will be scattered across this biome, and some grass or tall grass will be replaced with autumn ferns too.
Cherry Blossom Forests[]
Cherry Blossom Forests are packed with cherry trees with occasional maple and aspen trees. Fallen cherry leaves will be scattered across the ground in the biome. No structures spawn in Cherry Blossom Forests.
Sand-based Biomes[]
Sand-based biomes are flat, and sand covers the surface of these biomes.
Resources that spawn in sand-based biomes:
- Cactuses
- Fat cactuses
- Chili peppers (rarely)
Structures that spawn in sand-based biomes:
Deserts[]
See above. Deserts have all the characteristics of sand-based biomes,
Cactus Fields[]
Cactus fields are a rare variant of deserts where a huge amount of cactuses and fat cactuses spawn.
Red Deserts[]
Red deserts are an equally rare biome of deserts, where the sand that covers the surface is replaced with red sand.
Snow-based Biomes[]
Snowy Biomes will have trees scattered about and snow blocks on the ground. Rivers that spawn in these biomes will have a top layer of Ice.
Snowy Plains[]
Snowy Plains look similar to the Plains, but there are Cranberries in patches and Snow on the ground. No grasses will spawn, but Maple Trees can still spawn.
Snowy Pine/Cedar Forests[]
Snowy Pine or Cedar Forests are variants of the Pine and Cedar Forests, but snow covers the surface of the ground.
Frozen Badlands[]
Frozen Badlands will spawn like Snowy Plains, but the Snow is replaced with Packed Snow, and the Dirt is replaced by normal Snow Blocks. Many structures will spawn in Frozen Badlands, including Graves and Skull Temples. There will be large Ice Spikes that spawn around the map, many with ore (including Diamond and Moonstone) inside the spikes. Frozen undead mobs will spawn, including Draugr Zombies, Golems, Skeletons, and Knights, with the one outlier being the Spectral Wolf. Spectral Trees can spawn scattered about the biome, along with great Spectral Trees. This is arguably the most dangerous biome in the game, but also has the most rewards.
Other Forest Biomes[]
The forest biomes listed below are unique forest variants that do not share characteristics with other biomes.
Spectral Forest[]
Spectral Forests are packed with Spectral Trees (and sometimes Great Spectral Trees). Sometimes, ruins will appear in Spectral Forests.
Pine Forest[]
The Pine Forest biome is defined by its abundance of Pine Trees, with Cedar Trees appearing occasionally. Large great Pine Trees can sometimes generate as well. Common mob spawns in this biome include Deer, the different Stag variants, Bears, and Wolves.
Cedar Forest[]
The Cedar Forest is the rarest of all the biomes, where the ground is made of Grass Blocks instead of Pine Grass Blocks. Common mob spawns in this biome include Deer, the different Stag variants, Bears, and Wolves.
Jungle[]
Jungle biomes generate with a high density of Jungle Trees, Mango Trees, and Palm Trees, while Jumbo Jungle Trees are especially frequent. The ground is covered with Jungle Grass instead of regular Grass. Waterfalls and Jungle Structures may appear throughout the biome, often containing loot chests. Gorillas, Wolves, and Wildcats naturally spawn here.
