Cows are the a passive mob in the game. It is the second mob to be added to the game. Arthur, one of the developers, leaked the cow’s model a long time before it was added to the game.
Appearance[]
The normal cow has a skin that is light brown with beige patches on its body and black eyes. It also has a gray-brown nose. There is a variant of the cow called the cream cow, which has a beige skin and orange patches around the body
Location[]
Cows spawn at anywhere with grass blocks. Cows have two variants, which are the brown cow (brown with beige spots on the body) and the cream cow (beige with orange spots on the body). There is a 50% chance of each variant of cows spawning.

Behavior[]
Cows are passive and will not attack players. However, they will run away from any players who are attacking them. Cows walk slowly, and will frequently stop while idle. When cows are attacked, they will run away from the player for a short while at a faster speed before they return to their normal speed.

How to defeat a cow[]
Use a sword to kill the cow. They do not pose any danger to you.
Taming[]
You can tame a cow using Apples. After that, you need to feed it frequently to increase the friendship level. See pet friendship for more.

- The Cow represents the same cow from a texture pack by Bloxd Man.
- Cows surprisingly can run very fast, around 6 blocks per second when attacked.
- Cows used to drop Raw Beef every time killed, however, Arthur nerfed it with a 40% chance.
