Lucky Blocks Battlegrounds (previously called Lucky Block Battlegrounds, and has an even older name called Lucky Battlegrounds) is a gamemode that was added on November 14, 2025 on Staging.bloxd.io, and was released on the official Bloxd.io website on December 1st, 2025 in a gamemode vote against Pet Simulator, and won.
Gameplay[]
When players start the game, they spawn on random platforms made of wool of different colors (in clockwise direction: red, yellow, orange, white, pink, blue, light blue, lime) around the map, each with a bridge linking to the main island. You cannot enter the platforms other than the one you spawned on, but you can throw explosives at those platforms to damage them.
The main island resembles a section of a flat world (where the world is uniformly flat with grass blocks as the ground) There are 32 mystery blocks around the island, divided into 4 clusters of 8 blocks each of the four corners of the map. The mystery blocks will reappear after some time after they are broken. All players start with a wood pickaxe and 5 mystery blocks. Mystery blocks will constantly generate in their inventories over time.
Each round of lucky block battlegrounds lasts for 15 minutes. Players get random resources from breaking mystery blocks. In this way, they try to kill each other. The player that has the most number of kills at the end of a round wins a round. There is also a leaderboard at the right of the screen that shows the players with the most number of kills.
Mystery Blocks[]
Breaking each mystery block gives you a random number of a random item, block, effect, etc, and the message “you received (number) (name of item you received)” will be shown in your chat.
The mystery blocks may also give you illegal items, namely paintball guns (as well as their heavy and bow variants), ice bridges and popup towers.
However, there are items can never be obtained directly from mystery blocks, which are:
- Flowers and Grasses
- Food (the seeds of certain plants that can be used to farm food can still spawn or can be obtained through loot chests)
- Moonstone Explosives (remote moonstone explosives can still spawn)
- Super RPG and Grenade Laucher (normal RPGs can still spawn)
- Boards, books and name tags
- Bookshelves and mailboxes
- Workbench (you can still obtain them from loot chests), Artisan Bench, Furnace, Potion Table, Enchantment Table and Salvaging Tables
- Mob Spawn Orbs and Mob Spawners
- Compasses and shears
Even when your inventory is full, the game will still tell you what you received when you break mystery blocks.
Events[]
There are also many events that might happen when you break mystery blocks after being November 20th. Either one of these may happen:
- “You feel different…” — you get a random effect for 30 seconds. Negative effects that significantly hinders you (for example, slowness) will last for a shorter time (for example, 10 seconds).
- “Surprise!” — 4 Draugr Zombies, Wolves or Wildcats, 3 Draugr Skeletons or Frost Skeletons, or 2 Bears spawn around you. However, the Wolves or Wildcats will still be neutral and do not attack you immediately.
- “On display!” — a cage of glass, with the floor made of bricks, spawn around you.
- “Where does this lead?” — a staircase made of maple wood planks spawns near you. There is a platform at the top of the staircase with a loot chest on it.
- “Loot!” — a loot chest spawns at where the mystery block was.
- “Watch your step!” — the block you are standing on turns into obsidian, and all blocks a radius of 2 blocks around you turns into lava.
- “What are the chances?!” — 5 pigs spawn and fall from the sky. They will disappear on contact with the ground and not drop anything.
- “Boom!” — the blocks around you explode. If there are other mystery blocks that are destroyed in the explosion, they will not drop or give you items.
- ”Boing!” — 3 to 15 Bouncy Bombs disperse around where the lucky block was and explode.
- ”Twee!” — a random tree will spawn at where the lucky block was. “Twee” is a pun on “tree”.
- “Harvest time!” — a 5x5 area of tilled soil with fully grown wheat plants on the tilled soil will spawn.
- ”Everything’s shuffled!” — All blocks within a radius of 9 blocks from you will be changed into random blocks.
- “The divide!” — a huge glass wall spawns in front of you, dividing the map.
- “What a fun guy!” — 9 fat red mushrooms spawn under you, you will be launched up into the air, and you will also get the Feather Falling II effect to reduce the fall damage taken. “Fun guy” is a pun on “fungi”.
- “Bubble shield!” — a glass dome will spawn around you.
- “Incoming fireballs!” — fireballs rain down around you a short while after you broke the lucky block.
- ”A secret level!” — a dangling vine will appear, and you can climb up to reach a small parkour. Once you reached the end, there is a chest that contains a Diamond Hang Glider, 20 Firecrackers, and Spike Boots.
- “BIG!” — a 3x3x3 chunk of lucky blocks will spawn.
- “Fire in the hole!” — Many Moonstone Explosives drops at where the mystery block was and explodes a few seconds later
- “W i d e!” — your character will be elongated. “W I D E” is used to emphasize how elongated your character is when this pops up.
Trivia[]
- Before 20 November, breaking each mystery block gives you only 1 item or block. Additionally, there are only 16 mystery blocks around the map.
- One of the effects you may get when you “feel different” before 20 November is the brain rot effect. This was removed after 20 November as it drains a lot of health over time and is often fatal. It was then added back, as it only lasts for 10 seconds and only drain 1 health points per second.
- You can actually break the bedrock floor by using items that replace ground such as Paintball Guns or Ice Bridges, or using certain outcomes, like “On Display!” or “Everything’s shuffled!”.
- The tab “What are the chances?!" may be a reference to the saying about pigs flying.
- Since raw meat and bones are obtainable, you can tame the Wolves and Wildcats.
- Ditto above for the Pigs, and because of this, you can obtain Poop.
- It is the 4th gamemode with its thumbnail not having a player. It showcases the new ultra lucky block to represent the new update.
- When you have the Air Walking effect from a Mystery Block, it kind of glitches. You would drop to the ground slowly, and laggily. This would be feather falling instead, but doesn’t reduce the fall damage taken, and is more like Minecraft’s.
