Natural disaster is a game mode in Bloxd.io where players compete to be the last one standing in increasingly severe disasters. This game mode was first released on 18 March 2025 (and removed a day later) as a limited time game mode on itself. Natural disaster was released again on 13 August 2025, with new game mechanics and features, in a game mode voting against battle box; natural disaster won the voting and was made a permanent game mode on 18 August.
Layout[]
Natural disaster is similar to its predecessor, Natural Disaster Survival with new disasters. Additionally, there are generators around the map that will generate resources.
Each wave of disasters lasts for 30 seconds. When a new wave starts, the disasters, and its “stages”, will be shown on the screen momentarily. Stage 1, 2, 3 and 4 disasters will come with the emojis ⚠️, ⚠️⚠️, ⚠️⚠️⚠️ and ☠️ respectively.
You will get an apple after each round, while there are generators around that map that will spawn more valuable items.
Disasters[]
As the name suggests, this game mode is about surviving natural disasters. The disasters are as such:
| Disaster | Stage 1 | Stage 2 | Stage 3 | Stage 4 | Stage 1-3 Effects | Stage 4 effects |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lava Flood | Lava Flood | Lava Eruption | Lava Tsunami | Lava Inferno | The lava does not destroy any blocks, but you will take damage in the lava. | Similar to the “milder” stages, but some blocks in contact with the lava will turn into magma blocks and you will deal damage in contact with magma blocks. |
| Earthquake | Magnitude 3

Magnitude 6

Magnitude 11
Earthquake |
Earth-Splitting Earthquake | Players will be uncontrollably thrown upwards frequently. Random blocks around the map will disappear to simulate the destruction caused by the earthquake. | The earthquake will violently jolt you in random directions, and in the meantime, it will split the map in to two. |
| Meteor Shower | Meteor Shower | Meteor Storm | Meteor Barrage | Cyrometeor
Barrage |
Meteors, which are larger Fireball Blocks, will drop from random locations above the map and explode on contact with the ground or buildings. | The meteors will be huge Iceball Blocks and destroys blocks in a huge radius upon exploding. It also gives you the Frozen effect, which prevents you from moving. |
| Tornado | Tornado Twister | Tornado Tempest | Tornado Supercell | Tornado
Supercluster |
A tornado will spawn in the center of the map. It moves slowly, but it can drag players from a distance into it and deal rapid damage. | A twin Tornado will spawn in the middle, continuing to drag towards you like a black hole. |
| Zombie Outbreak | Zombie Outbreak | Zombie Horde | Zombie Apocalypse | Undead Apocalypse | Draugr Zombies will spawn in random locations across the map | Similar to the “milder” stages, but Draugr Skeleton will also spawn. |
| Plague Virus | Plague Outbreak | Plague Epidemic | Plague Pandemic | Eye-plaque
Pandemic |
Your screen will have a green hue that slowly becomes more saturated. You will also receive the weakness, slowness and/or the poison effect over time if you don’t drink milk potions. Drinking milk potions remove the effects and green hue temporarily. | Similar to the “milder” stages, but you will have a low visibility of the map even if your effects are cleared. You will also get the blindness effect, and the other effects faster, if you don’t drink milk potions. |
Generators[]
Note: this list might not be complete. Please help with verifying the items generated by the generators and add any if there are missing items.
In each map, there are 8 generators that generates essential resources that can help you in winning a round. Each of them will generate a resource at the end of each round. They will also generate apples occasionally during each round. For now, the generators can generate the following items:
- Bread
- Instant healing potions
- Jump potions
- Wool (due to a bug, you cannot pick up wool in the game)
- Obsidian
- Cobwebs
- Pebbles
- Cave golem spawn orb
- Moonstone orbs
- Spiked boots
At the center of the map, there is another generator that spawns potent, perhaps overpowered resources rarely. When it spawns an item, a message will be broadcasted to all players telling what has been spawned. Currently, the generator can spawn these items:
- Regenerating diamond chestplate (a diamond chestplate enchanted with health regeneration)
- Wood hang glider
- Spawn temporary draugr knight (a dragur knight spawn orb)
- Resurrection coin (gives you 100 health when your health reaches 0)
Additionally, when another player dies, all the items they have before they died will drop. You can pick up their items to get more resources.
Strategies[]
Lava Flood[]
By common sense, you should build up to a high place. However, do not build up too high as you would take fall damage when you jump down to take the resources from the generators. It also uses a lot of wool, which makes it difficult to build up again in later rounds involving lava floods.
Sometimes, a valuable item will generate in the generator in the middle of the map while there are lava floods. If the flood is low and you have a reasonably high amount of health to survive walking through the lava, it is worth taking the risk to get the item.
Plague[]
Collect as many milk potions as possible. You can save them for later plague disasters. This can come in handy when a plague comes with a lava flood, where the lava will prevent you from collecting milk potions on the generators on the ground. To save milk potions, only drink them when you have the weakness II effect. Do not wait until you have the slowness or poison effect to drink milk potions.
Earthquake[]
Try to stay indoors where there is still a roof above you, as you might take much fall damage from being jolted up by the shakes. If a meteor shower happens simultaneously with an earthquake, stay outdoors and use cobwebs and moonstone orbs is possible to save yourself from fatal falls.
Meteor Shower[]
Meteors are not targeted on players or homing, but a large amount of them will drop at any time during the disaster. The best thing to do during meteor showers is to stay outdoors and constantly look up. Avoid staying in buildings as you cannot see where the meteors are dropping while in buildings. Also, meteors are explosive and will destroy blocks within a certain radius in contact with the ground, so the meteors will eventually “tear down” buildings and render them useless to hide from disasters.
If a meteor shower happens with a lava flood, try to build up to get to huge ledges of building or the rooftops, if a reasonable number of blocks on the rooftops are intact. If the rooftops or ledges are badly damaged, you can try to “fix” a part of the rooftop for a safe place for you to stand. However, do not waste too much wool on fixing the rooftops or other parts of the map, as wool does not drop when being destroyed by meteor explosions.
Tornadoes[]
Tornados are easy to avoid; they will only spawn in the center of the map and moves very slowly. However, they can pull players into it and deal rapid damage from a distance, so watch out for where the tornado is moving to and avoid the areas closest to it.
Others[]
Try to get as many items from the generators as possible. Do not camp on rooftops as you will take fall damage when you jump off the rooftop to get the items, and other players on the ground might get the items faster than you.
When you are falling from a fatal height, try to throw moonstone orbs to the ground to teleport you there or place a cobweb on the ground when you are almost reaching the ground. Do not throw moonstone orbs when you are almost reaching the ground as moonstone orbs take a moment to fly to the ground and teleport you there, and you may die by then.
If you got a draugr knight spawn orb or a stone golem spawn orb, try to throw it at players. Make sure that you are some distance away from where you want to throw as if you throw the orbs too close to you, the mobs can attack you.
Trivia[]
- The game was before called “Natural Disaster Survival”.
- On the day that the gamemode got released, it introduced 2 new disasters, which are the Zombie Outbreak and Tornadoes.
- On September 5th, 2025, a new disaster came, which is called “Plague Outbreak”.
- Even though your gamemode is shown as Spectator Mode, you have a health bar and can place blocks, which makes it confusing.
