Pet Friendship

Pet friendship is a game mechanic in Bloxd.io that allows players to build friendships with mobs. The player gets food, items, and special effects for both themselves and the mob from the friendship. The pet friendship system was added on November 10th, 2025.

Taming pets[]

You can tame mobs by clicking on them while holding food. However, each piece of food only has a small chance of successfully taming them, and you need to bring multiple pieces of food if you want to successfully tame a mob in one go.

Foods that are used to tame mobs[]

Wolf: Bone

Wildcat: Any raw or cooked meat (except rotten flesh and rotten brains)

Pig, Cow, Sheep: Apple

Horse: Apple, Wheat, or riding it with a saddle.

Deer: Cherry

Foods that each mob likes a lot[]

Pig: Plum, Cracked Coconut, Pumpkin Pie, Bowl of Rice, Melon Slice, Gold Melon Slice. Corn, Bowl of Cranberries, Mushroom Soup, Carrot, Chili Pepper, Beetroot, Raw Potato, Baked Potato

Sheep: Apple, Wheat, Bread, Corn, Banana, Pear, Cherry, Carrot, Beetroot, Raw Potato, Baked Potato, Plum

Deer: Plum, Mushroom Soup, Bowl of Cranberries, Apple, Cherry, Corn, Carrot, Beetroot, Wheat, Banana, Pear

The following are items awarded to the player while progressing through the friendship level system.

Paintings[]

There are 7 paintings in total (one for each mob that can be tamed), which all of them can be obtained by reaching a friendship level of 4 hearts.

The paintings are:

Grant Wool (Sheep)
Stampede (Cow)
Unforgotten Pig (Pig)
Sunbathed Gallope (Horse)
Dreaming Canine (Wolf)
A Doe through the Green (Deer)
Whiskers (Wildcat)

Food Items[]

When you reach a friendship level of 2 hearts or more with a pet, they will drop items that can be crafted into food whenever you feed them.

Caught Fish[]

Obtained from Wildcats. It can be crafted into Fish Fillet, which can be consumed for "Pickpocketing" effect for 15 seconds, where you can steal items from another player when you attack them.

Meaty Bone[]

Obtained from Wolves. Can be crafted into Blindness Pebbles to give other players the "Blindness" effect when thrown at.

Oats[]

Obtained from Horses. Can be crafted into Porridge, and when consumed, Porridge will give you "Wall Climbing" effect, allowing you to climb on the side of any block like a ladder.

Cow's Milk[]

Obtained from Cows. Can be crafted into Cheese, which can be eaten to give the "Air Walk" effect for 15 seconds. “Air walk” allows you to walk on the same height as the last block you were standing on before you have the effect, meaning that you can walk on air on top of blocks that are lower than the height you are walking on. However, you cannot jump to walk higher; jumping removes the air walk effect.

Truffle[]

Obtained from Pigs. Can be crafted into Truffle Oil, which can be consumed for the "Bounciness" effect for 15 seconds, where you will bounce on any block constantly.

Sheep's Milk[]

Obtained from Sheep. Can be crafted into a Yoghurt Pot, which can be consumed for "Lifesteal" effect for 15 seconds, enabling you to steal health from any player you hit.

Acorn[]

Obtained from Deer. Can be crafted into Acorn Jelly, which gives you 2 minutes of "Haste" effect where your speed of breaking blocks is increased.

Various messages that notifies you information about the friendship will appear in the chat.

[Pet name] likes that food a little.	You fed your pet with a food that the pet likes a little.	Feed the pet with any food it likes a little (next to the yellow heart in the UI of the pet)

[Pet name] is now at Friendship Level 1!	Your pet’s Friendship Level is level 1. Now your pets can now be renamed by a Nametag.	The friendship level will start at level 1 when you first tame a mob
