A Player Name Tag is the name of Players you see above their heads in the game.
Information[]
The player name tag is not the Name Tag item used to rename tamed mobs. The player name tag displays players’ names above their heads.
History[]
Sometime in March 2024, Bloxd moderators added a feature that you can see Name Tags through Blocks and changed the Player Name Tag to be black and the names written in a white font, while previously they were black font on white background. Name Tags are hidden in these circumstances:
- While crouching
- In Murder Mystery
- In Hide and Seek when you are a block hiding.
All these exceptions are there to allow players to hide in some way.
When a player has an effect(s), the icon of the effect will be shown next to their name.
When you attack a player, you can see their health below their name tag temporarily. The amount of health they have will be in the form of a them health bar. The health bar will become shorter when they have less health. The colour also indicates the amount of health they have, with green being the having the most amount of health, followed by yellow, orange and finally red being having a very low amount of health. The health bar would not be shown when a player’s health regenerates.
In last stand, the amount of health is written as a number below each players’ name tag indefinitely to help players look out for each others’ health,
Players who have the Super Rank and/or YouTube Rank will have the Super Rank and/or YouTube logo next to their name tags.
In Bedwars, the role the player chose for the round will be shown under their usernames.
Other Entities with Name Tags[]
Tamed mobs will have a name tag above their heads. The top line shows the name of the mob. This can be renamed by name tags, but the default name is always “(random adjective) (the name of the mob, e.g. for wildcats this will be “wildcat”, for wolves it will be “wolf”, and as such)”. The bottom line always say “(username) of player who tamed the mob)’s (name of mob)” and cannot be changed.
After the pet system is added, the level of friendship between the player and the mob will be shown in hearts (e.g. 1 heart means the friendship is at level 1) at the bottom of the name tag, as well as the hunger level of the pet in apples (3 apples is full, 2 apples is pesky, 1 apple is hungry and 0 apples means the pet is starving).
By using code blocks, it is possible to give mobs that cannot be tamed or blocks name tags. As seen in the picture of the entry in the update log on smart mobs, all the sheep and pigs in the picture has name tags above them that says “smart pig (number)” and “smart sheep (number)”.
Tribe Name Tag[]
When you joined a tribe, the name tags of other members of the tribe are green. The distance of the members from you are also written beside their names in meters. (1 block = 1 meter in the game)
Changing name tags[]
Your Player Name Tag will change if you change your username in the Main Menu. However, after changing once, you have to wait another 2 hours before you can change it again.
