The Spirit Wolf is a mob that can be found as a mob catcher containing a spirit wolf in loot Chests in any type of Ruins. When mob catchers are used, it will spawn a Spirit Wolf that is tamed immediately. Spirit Wolves are neutral and will not attack players, but will do so if the player or another mob attacks it. In custom games where spirit wolves are not tamed immediately, you can tame spirit wolves with Moonstone, which will make them help you to fight other players and mobs. When spirit wolves are not tamed, they will behave like a regular Wolf and do the same damage as a regular Wolf.
Spirit Wolves were added 10/29/2025 alongside Spirit Gorillas, Spirit Stags, Spirit Bears, and Spirit Golems.
Appearance[]
Unlike regular Wolves, all Spirit Wolves have a uniform appearance, which is a pale shade of cyan.
Spawning[]
Spirit Wolves do not spawn naturally like most mobs, instead you can find a Mob Catcher with a spirit wolf inside in loot chests in some ruins. Using the mob catcher will spawn a spirit wolf that is tamed immediately.
Items Dropped[]
Like Wolves, Spirit Wolves do not spawn anything upon death.
Behavior[]
In survival and peaceful, spirit wolves are always tamed by the person who uses the mob catcher containing them instantly. In creative and worlds, you can spawn untamed spirit wolves by spawn orbs or mob spawners.
When Tamed[]
Spirit Wolves follow you around, and does not attack you. You can feed it Gold Bars, Diamonds or Moonstone to heal them. Spirit Wolves will attack any mob or player that attacks you. They will also attack players or mobs that you hurt.
